§ 10.448. Board of trustees; officers.

    (a)

    The board shall elect from its members a chairman and a chairman pro tem.

    (b)

    The city clerk shall be secretary of the retirement system and its administrative officer.

    (c)

    The city treasurer shall be treasurer of the retirement system and the custodian of its funds.

    (d)

    The city attorney shall be legal advisor to the board.

    (e)

    The board shall appoint an actuary who shall be technical advisor to the board on matters regarding the operation of the retirement system on an actuarial basis and who shall perform such other duties as are required in connection therewith.

    (f)

    The board may employ such other professional services as are required for the proper operation of the retirement system. Compensations for services provided for in this section shall be subject to the approval of the council.
